Established in 2007, Solar Unlimited is a wholly WA-owned and operated, ISO 9001/2008 Quality endorsed company. Each member of our senior management team carries an average of 20 years business experience with background qualifications including Masters of Business Administration, Masters of Science in Renewable Energy and Masters of Electrical Engineering.

We were first to help make solar power affordable to more Western Australians, and by the end of 2008, Solar Unlimited had installed 1 in 3 of all grid connect systems in Westren Australia, including Perth’s largest grid connect system at Murdoch University, one of Australia’s leading renewable energy research & training institutes.

In March 2009, following a comprehensive industry review, Synergy chose Solar Unlimited as its exclusive partner to promote, design and install solar energy systems to Synergy's customers.

As at December 2009, Solar Unlimited's installed generation capacity in Western Australia exceeds 2 Megawatts, representing the a significant contribution to renewable energy in the WA community.

The environmental benefits from this achievement are obvious, the more solar powered systems installed in WA, the lower the impact on our environment and the lesser our dependence on fossil fuels.

Our goal is to proliferate affordable renewable energy and energy management solutions to all Western Australians so that renewable energy and sustainability become mainstream rather than 'alternative'.

• SMA – the world’s leading solar inverter manufacturer by volume, turnover and production capacity, with over 3 gigawatts installed
• Solyndra - Solyndra's unique thin film technology specifically designed for flat roof tops is cost effective, easy to install and achieves incredible efficiency levels comparable to crystalline technologies

Solar Unlimited is Suntech and Solyndra's exclusive WA distribution and integration partner.  We source our inverters directly from the world's leading inverter manufacturer, SMA.  Our credentials and substantial group buying power ensures the best quality, consistency of supply, and the most competitive pricing for our customers.

Case Studies

Solar Unlimited installed Perth's largest grid connect solar power system at Murdoch University in 2008.  This system incorporates a 26kW solar array, a real-time web display of solar generation capacity.

Murdoch University is recognised as a leading renewable energy research and education institute in the southern hemisphere.

South Fremantle Senior High School – Total 30kW and growing


In 2007, Solar Unlimited worked closely with South Fremantle Senior High School to create a campaign that enabled the school to take a step towards being Carbon Neutral. 

The successful proposal incorporated a school community awareness program involving ongoing joint presentations to the school community.  Each 1kW package purchased by the extended school community would contribute towards a free 1kW solar array installed at the school.

In May 2008, Julia Gillard, Deputy Prime Minister (pictured above) unveiled the solar array at the school.  This unique and innovative solution has accounted for a total of 30kW of solar power being installed, and was a first for the Australian Solar Industry.

National Lifestyle Villages- Over 70kW and growing

In 2007 the foundations were laid for Solar Unlimited to begin retro-fitting four of the National Lifestyle Villages in Perth.  Following numerous awards for Environmental achievements it was appropriate to synergize philosophies and work towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Presentations by Solar Unlimited on the benefits of solar power to each village have now contributed to over 70kW in generation capacity being installed.  This again is a unique and creative project of significant proportions that has engaged a community.
