Founded in 2001 by leading solar scientist Dr. Zhengrong Shi, Suntech is the world’s largest producer of silicon solar modules.

Engineered for unsurpassed durability and performance, Suntech Panels have been commissioned on the largest solar power farms in the world. They also feature on high profile buildings such as the Sydney Theatre Company and Google Headquarters.

A Solar panel's performance is measured by its Conversion Efficiency. Suntech's recent Pluto technology, developed in collaboration with the University of New South Wales, broke the world record with a Conversion Efficiency of 19% in 2009. Elements of Pluto technology have been incorporated into all of Suntech's solar panels.

With more than 700 quality control professionals, Suntech undertakes some of the most rigorous testing in the industry. Its manufacturing sites in China, Japan and the United States, follow the strictest production guidelines and are staffed by highly-trained manufacturing experts. In 2011, Suntech was honoured with the Global Leader Award from Murphy & Spitz, which recognises sustainable companies for exceptional environmental, health and safety (EH&S) practices.
